Maureen specialises in commodity trading and shipping work, both contentious and advisory. Her experience in commodity trading ranges from oil-related commodities like crude oil, refined products, bunkers and LPG to coal and agriproducts. Maureen has particular expertise in the LNG sector, advising on LNG sale and purchase contracts and related transportation contracts such as tanker charterparties. She has a growing practice in sustainable commodities, including advising on biofuels and carbon offsets agreements. Maureen’s shipping experience spans the entire shipping spectrum, from shipbuilding, ship sale and purchase, to charterparties, bill of lading matters and ship recycling. She deals with a range of vessels from bulk carriers, oil and chemical tankers to gas tankers and floating storage and regasification units (FSRU).
Maureen spent most of her legal career at an international law firm, where she rose to become a partner. Qualified to practise law in Singapore and England and Wales, Maureen sits on the advisory board of the Centre for Maritime Law of the National University of Singapore. She is a regular speaker at seminars and conferences.
