Professional Experience

Over the last two decades, Dan has served in sales leadership and general management roles for technology-focused and software organizations both in China and in the United States.  His expertise in technology issues facing western organizations in China has been honed by his leadership as Chair/Vice Chair of the Information Technology Committee at the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai since 2011. Dan is Consilio’s China Managing Director overseeing eDiscovery and Document Review sales, operations, and services throughout mainland China.

Dan Whitaker has a 20+ year history in China and has lived continuously in Shanghai since 2008.  Dan’s signature accomplishment upon his arrival in Shanghai was working alongside the US State Department to lead the successful $61.5M sponsorship sales effort to build and operate the USA Pavilion at the Shanghai 2010 World Expo, a key US diplomatic and commercial initiative which drew over 70 million visitors during the six-month Expo period.

Dan first lived in China in 1996 in Kunming, Yunnan province, after graduating from the University of Vermont (UVM) with an M.A. in History.  He also holds an M.B.A. from the University of Connecticut (UCONN) and a B.A. from Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, TX.
