Maree Myerscough
General Counsel, Asia & Pacific
Conergy Asia & ME Pte. Ltd.
Maree is the General Counsel, Asia & Pacific for Conergy, a renewable energy company focused on downstream solar energy solutions.

At Conergy, Maree is a member of the senior management team and responsible for managing Conergy’s legal affairs in the Asia Pacific region.  She provides legal advice and transaction support for each of Conergy’s business units.  Maree also provides strategic advice to the directors on investment opportunities, corporate governance and general commercial matters and helps to manage and mitigate disputes across the region. Prior to joining Conergy, Maree worked with another renewable energy company where she focused on project financing renewable energy projects across the region.

Before moving to an in-house role, Maree was a senior associate at Latham & Watkins in Singapore and gained extensive transactional experience in all areas of project development and financing. Maree was actively involved in the pro bono community, serving in various roles to facilitate pro bono opportunities for international lawyers in Singapore. Maree is qualified to practice law in Australia and England & Wales and has been based in Singapore for ten years.

Mr. Aquino has extensive experience in litigation, dispute resolution and client counseling. He has acted as lead counsel for various civil, criminal and commercial cases, intra-corporate disputes, special civil actions such as the Writ of Kalikasan, arbitration and adjudication, estate proceedings, and cases involving public officials. In the course of his practice, he has appeared in practically all levels of the judicial system.  He has appeared before regular courts all over the country, the Sandiganbayan, Court of Appeals and Supreme Court, administrative agencies, and before the House of Representatives and the Senate for legislative inquiries. Mr. Aquino has also rendered legal advice and assistance for corporate clients on various commercial transactions and handled legal concerns involving shareholders and directors.
 
Mr. Aquino has represented clients in various sectors such as banking, telecommunications, power and energy, public utilities, media, education, technology and government service, as well as indigent clients in need of legal assistance.

Neptali B. Salvanera

Mr. Salvanera’s practice areas include labor law litigation, including cases for illegal dismissal and unfair labor practice, the conduct of labor audits, labor relations law including strikes, union organization and representation issues, the labor aspect of mergers and acquisitions, and the planning and implementation of manpower reduction programs. He has likewise ventured into the study of data privacy and data protection in the workplace and has rendered opinions on the matter for several clients. Mr. Salvanera is extensively involved in the conduct of legal audit on the practices and contracting arrangements of companies. He is a part of the team that institutionalized the conduct of legal audit. He has likewise handled cases before the labor courts as well as the Court of Appeals and Supreme Court.

ESTRELLA C. ELAMPARO is a Senior Partner and Head of the Commercial and Criminal Litigation Department of DivinaLaw.  She has been engaged in litigation practice, in different capacities for the past 23 years.

After several years of practice in two prestigious law firms, she joined the government as a public prosecutor, handling several high profile cases for the government.  Thereafter, on a Chevening Scholarship, she took her M.A.  in Health Care Ethics and Law from the University of Manchester. Shortly after coming back to the Philippines, she was appointed as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of the Government Service Insurance System, which administers the pension fund of government employees.
She is a Certified Securities and Treasury Specialist.  She has also taught Criminal Law and Health Care Ethics and Law at the San Beda Graduate School of Law.

In DivinaLaw, she established a pioneering department specializing in crisis management that assists and provides wholistic support to clients in crisis situations.

Elizabeth Miller

Elizabeth has over 25 years of experience working in legal firms and 10 years in the Courts. She has worked on Royal Commission’s/ Commissions of Inquiry since 2003, and is currently project managing Law In Order’s service provision to the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse. 

She has in-depth experience developing, designing, fitting out and operationally implementing eHearing and Trial models to the judicial, legal and corporate markets in Australia, Europe and North America. 

Since 2003, she has been responsible for the design, implementation and operational management of various eCourts in the Supreme Court of New South Wales and Victoria (Commercial and Criminal), Federal Court of Australia (NSW, WA and VIC), Inquiries in ACT, Tax Court of Canada, Welsh Assembly (Wales UK), Supreme Court of Ontario and the Penrose Inquiry in Edinburgh, Scotland. Elizabeth’s qualifications include a Masters of Business and Technology as well a Degree in Industrial Management.

Dag Ove Solsvik

DNV GL - Group Legal - Singapore
Dag Ove is responsible for the legal operations of the DNV GL Group in Region Middle East, Asia & Pacific. He advises the divisional, regional and country management teams on various legal issues such as contracts, claims/litigation, governmental affairs/statutory requirements, restructuring, M&A and other legal issues that arise in the day to day operations of the DNV GL Group in the various jurisdictions in his region. Solsvik qualified in Norway and has previously served as a deputy judge in his home country. He has also worked in the Norwegian ministries and as external lawyer with both contentious and non-contentious matters. He joined DNV GL Group in 2011, working at its Oslo headquarters as corporate counsel before moving to Shanghai in 2013 as head of group legal region APAC. He moved to Singapore in 2016 in the same role after an internal reorganization.

Roland Samosir

Dyson
Roland Samosir has over 25 years’ experience working in-house at major global brands within the region. After spending nearly five years at GE, with his last appointment being the Senior Legal Counsel Asia Pacific of GE Oil & Gas, Roland joined Dyson in June 2013.  He joined Dyson as Legal Director – Asia Pacific and is now General Counsel, Asia Operations based in Singapore.  In the over three years at Dyson, he built a legal team across the region that supports all aspects of the Dyson business, ranging from procurement, manufacturing operations, logistics to sales.  Prior to GE, he spent fifteen years at Lucent Technologies in its various iterations as part of AT&T and finally as Alcatel-Lucent.  His key drivers throughout his career have been both providing holistic counsel on strategic business decisions and structuring the legal department to provide synergistic partnership and support to the business. Experienced in emerging markets, he was part of the GE team focused on entry into Myanmar. Roland has also taken an active role in mentoring staff to their fullest potential.  Aside from work, Roland likes to spend time with his family, church, sailing and golfing.
April Raimundo

April is Chief Legal Officer of EFA Group and is responsible for all legal matters including business and investment structuring, corporate and fund set up and other legal issues across all countries where EFA does business including Singapore, Hong Kong, UAE, Switzerland, UK, Romania, and Turkey. April oversees legal support in all areas of transaction management for capital finance, structured and trade commodity finance and provides support on restructuring and litigation for financing across Asia, Europe and the Middle East. She was the first legal counsel of EFA in 2011 and set up the legal and compliance platform of EFA through an accelerated growth period.

She was named one of five in-house lawyers in the 2016 edition of ALBs 40 under 40 and her team was shortlisted as banking and financial services in house team of the year in the ALB SEA Law Awards 2016. 

Prior to joining EFA Group, April was an Associate at Baker & McKenzie International. Her legal practice focused on various aspects of corporate and commercial work including mergers and acquisitions, contract drafting and review, doing business concerns, due diligence, outsourcing, special registrations and structuring of investments. Her industry concentrations included environment and natural resources, real estate, outsourcing and retail trade. 

Gavin Ingram
General Counsel Asia Pacific & Vice President Strategic Planning

Gavin Ingram is General Counsel Asia Pacific and Vice President Strategic Planning for Global Blue. Gavin also acts as Company Secretary for Global Blue’s Singapore entities. Prior to Global Blue, Gavin was Legal Director Asia for AdventBalance which is a new and innovative law firm that seconds their lawyers to sit with the clients during the term of the secondment.

Prior to AdventBalance, Gavin was General Counsel Asia for the Australian listed company BlueScope Steel (formerly BHP Steel) where Gavin managed all legal and compliance issues across BlueScope’s Asia footprint. In this role, Gavin was awarded the leading in-house counsel award in Asia-Pacific by AsiaLaw in 2007.

Gavin started his career in private practice as an infrastructure lawyer at Blake Dawson Waldron (as it then was, now Ashursts) and Freehills (now Herbert Smith Freehills). Gavin holds Law and Commerce degrees from Australia and most recently completed his MBA (with Honors) through the University of Chicago.

Gavin has significant experience in navigating the challenges of Asia’s diverse legal systems.

Patrick McGlinchey

A dual Australian and British citizen, Patrick McGlinchey has over 23 years of legal and commercial experience, focusing on M&A, corporate governance, leadership, compliance and general commercial law with significant exposure to Indonesia and other Asian markets. He is recognised by Legal 500 as one of South East Asia's leading in house counsel. 

Since March 2014, Mr. McGlinchey has served as Regional General Counsel Asia Pacific for LafargeHolcim (and its predecessor organisation, Holcim) and was appointed to the Holcim Indonesia Board of Directors as a Commissioner in 2015. Prior to this, his appointments were as General Counsel, Company Secretary and EXCO member for Holcim Australia; Chief Legal Officer and Company Secretary for Aristocrat Leisure Ltd. in Sydney; Director of Capital Investments and Acquisitions Asia Pacific for InterContinental Hotels Group plc in Singapore; as well as Legal Director and Associate General Counsel for Cable & Wireless plc in London.  In addition, he held various senior legal positions in private practice in London and Sydney. 

Mr. McGlinchey holds dual degrees in Economics (Soc sc) and Law (Hons) from the University of Sydney, Australia. He is currently admitted as a lawyer in both the UK and Australia (NSW).


Dan Shea

Dan Shea is based in Singapore and is currently the Director of Compliance and Litigation for Microsoft Asia Pacific & Japan.  Dan joined Microsoft in 2009 and his experience there has included providing global labor and employment law support, as well as conducting and directing global internal investigations.  His extensive experience in investigative work also includes nearly a decade as a litigator in the insurance industry.

James, who has over 23 years of contentious and non-contentious international cross-border transactional experience acquired through a combination of private practice at industry-leading law firms and in-house roles at Fortune 500 Multinational Corporations, joined NatSteel Holdings Pte. Ltd., a TATA Enterprise, in September 2008 as Vice-President of Legal and Company Secretary and is currently its Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Company Secretary.

TATA Group’s total revenue in fiscal year 2015-2016 was USD103.51 billion, of which 67.3% was from outside India. Its key companies are Tata Communications Services Limited, Tata Motors Limited (of which Land Rover and Jaguar are part), Tata Power Limited and Tata Steel Limited.

Clarence Lun

Clarence is the Group General Counsel for Otto Marine Limited. He advises the Group on all legal matters involving the company and is involved in advising on contractual issues and negotiations, corporate deals, M&A, regulatory work as well as litigation and arbitration claims relating to the Group. Clarence commenced his legal practice in the dispute resolution team of Clyde & Co Clasis after getting called to the Singapore bar.  Clarence subsequently went on to join Swiber Offshore Construction and was promoted to Senior Legal Counsel. In 2016, Clarence left Swiber in to take on the role as Group General Counsel in Otto Marine. Clarence has a particular interest in issues relating to engineering, construction and infrastructure project disputes. In recent times, given his sectorial exposure to the offshore maritime industry, Clarence has been actively involved in oil and gas and maritime disputes involving the Group.

Richard Ancrum

Richard Ancrum is presently the Head of Legal & Compliance for the Asian operations of PartnerRe based in their Singapore office.  He has over 17 years legal experience the majority of which has been spent working within the (re)insurance industry focusing on financial services, corporate governance, cross-border regulatory & compliance issues, corporate & commercial transactions and distribution arrangements.  Prior to PartnerRe, Mr Ancrum was a Senior Lawyer and member of Executive Staff within the Group Legal function at the Zurich Insurance Group of companies having originally trained within the Taxation and Legal Services division of PricewaterhouseCoopers.  He has significant international experience across multiple regions having lived and worked in Australia, London, Spain, Switzerland and Singapore.   

Monisha Kamdar

Monisha Kamdar is the Head of Legal for Raiffeisen Bank International AG, Singapore and oversees the legal function for all of the Bank’s business in the entire APAC region (excluding China).

Reporting to the CEO Asia Pacific of the Bank based in Singapore, she works alongside senior management and heads of departments providing legal support in all areas of transaction management for structured, mezzanine and trade finance transactions and more recently, provides crucial support on workout matters, restructurings, litigation and risk management.  In addition, she provides legal support to the board of management locally and in Austria. 

Monisha was the first legal hire for the Bank in Asia in October 2010 and was responsible for establishing the legal department and building it up, initially acting as sole general counsel in Asia (ex China).  Prior to the bank’s restructuring of it Asia business, she sat on the Bank’s Problem Loan Committee. She provides strategic legal and commercial advice on matters relating to recoveries and NPLs. Prior to Raiffeisen Bank, Monisha was a senior attorney for 8 years at the Singapore office of Latham & Watkins, one of the world’s most prestigious US law firms.  She primarily focused on project development and financing transactions across the Asia Pacific region and advised developers, contractors, project lenders and underwriters in the power, petrochemical and shipping industries.  Earlier on in her career, she also represented clients in corporate and capital markets transactions.

Ranajit Dam is the Managing Editor of Thomson Reuters’ Legal Media Group, which includes Asian Legal Business, Asia’s foremost monthly publication covering the legal industry. A former lawyer, he has been a journalist for more than a decade, after graduating from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. Since then, he has worked in China, India and Singapore, where he is currently based.

Buchan Love Vice President & Associate General Counsel, Asia Pacific Mead Johnson Nutrition Buchan Love is Vice President and Associate General Counsel for Mead Johnson Nutrition (NYSE: MJN). In this role he is responsible for ensuring provision of legal services, internal and external, to the MJN Asia Regional Office in Singapore and the Asia Pacific markets. Buchan is a member of the MJN Asia Operating Committee and also acts as a director on the boards of most of MJN’s Asia legal entities. During his more than ten years at MJN he has covered legal and compliance responsibilities across jurisdictions and legal systems, at one point being the sole in-house attorney for the Asia-Pacific region. He now manages a team of 6 in-house lawyers. In February 2017 he was included in the Legal500 “GC Powerlist, South East Asia”. Prior to MJN, Buchan was in private practice; eight years with a leading Thai firm in Thailand, and before that with firms in England and New Zealand. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Studies and an LLB(Hons), both from the University of Auckland. Buchan’s career, most of which has been in the Asia region, has covered a broad range of legal and commercial subject matters, jurisdictions and cross functional interactions.
