Samantha Campbell, Partner, Samantha Campbell is an English qualified partner based in our Singapore office with almost 20 years' experience in project and infrastructure finance and development in emerging and developing markets, across Europe, the ex-Soviet Union, Africa and Asia. She has been resident in South –East Asia for almost 10 years and is the managing partner of our Vietnam practice. She is known for delivering practical advice and completing complex cross border transactions against a backdrop of often vague or developing regulations in challenging jurisdictions in ASEAN. Her industry sector experience covers oil & gas and energy, water and sanitation, expressways and other transport and logistics, as well as financial institutions. |
Ran Chakrabarti, Partner IndusLaw Ran is a dual qualified lawyer in England & Wales and India. He is a graduate of King's College, London and the London School of Economics. Prior to embarking on a career in law, he interned with a diplomatic mission to the United Nations in Geneva and the United Nations Department of Political Affairs in New York. He spent the first 6 years of his legal career in London and Singapore with the finance and projects practices at Ashurst and White & Case, advising multinational corporations and global financial institutions on a range of complex cross-border transactions. He moved to India in 2007 to work with Amarchand & Mangaldas before establishing his own niche practice, advising foreign companies and financial institutions on their inbound India work and Indian companies on their outbound joint ventures and acquisitions. He merged his practice with IndusLaw in 2004 He specialises in Projects and Project Finance advising lenders, borrowers, sponsors and contractors on matters including bankability review, concession, EPC, O&M, supply and off-take agreements, loan agreements, sponsor support agreements, contractor guarantees and intercreditor and security issues. Public International Law is another area of expertise, having advised on a proposed pipeline route and sovereign immunity issues and he is currently in the process of finishing a textbook. |
Sheharyar Chughtai, Vice President, Asia Pacific Project Finance Sheharyar is currently the Vice President for Asia Pacifric Project Finance at Korea Development Bank (KDB) Singapore. He is responsible for origination, structuring, due diligence and financial closing of energy (power & renewables, O&G especially LNG liquefaction and regasification) and infrastructrure transactions in Asia Pacific. Prior to joining KDB in 2014, he worked with Standard Chartered for 5 years covering structured finance transactions in the transport and infrastructure space in Australia, Asean and West Africa. He began his professional career in 2006 as an infrastructure planner with the Norway based Telenor Group's operations in Pakistan. He holds a B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering and an MBA and is a GARP (Global Association of Risk Professionals) qualified Energy Risk Professional (ERP). He is the organiser and moderator for GARP Energy Risk Discussions, a forum for panel discussions on key issues in the energy sector in Asia and also writes on energy and infrastructure industry issues. |

As a Vice-President in the Public Sector & Security Consulting Practice, his key focus is to advise and assist clients achieve their economic and organisational objectives through market growth, industry development, regulatory and economic analysis/review. |
Gregoire Bouzereau, Director Infrastructure and Real Estate Group Based in Singapore, Gregoire Bouzereau is a Director in the Infrastructure and Real-Estate Group of HSBC. He brings more than 13 years of experience in infrastructure finance advisory and arranging in a wide range of sectors including infrastructure and utilities, natural resources and energy, in Europe, South-East Asia and Australia. He was based in Sydney until 2012 where he developed HSBC project finance franchise in the infrastructure and oil and gas sectors. He holds a Master of Engineering from Ecole Centrale de Lyon. |
Jeremy is the General Counsel and part of the management team of InfraCo Asia, a donor-funded, commercially managed infrastructure investment and development company. He has diverse experience across the Asia-Pacific and ASEAN region, particularly in the infrastructure, renewables, energy and project development sectors. Prior to joining InfraCo Asia, he was Senior Associate at Baker & McKenzie, a global law firm, working from bases across Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar and Singapore, covering the Asia-Pacific region. He has also acted as regional ASEAN-focused in-house legal counsel at BP, a global oil major, where he was responsible for providing legal solutions across various ASEAN downstream businesses. |
Nicholas is currently the Chief Legal Officer of ecoWise Holdings Limited – a SGX listed company. ecoWise is involved in 3 main areas of business – renewable energy, resource recovery and provision of integrated environmental management solutions; and in 3 jurisdictions – Republic of Singapore, the Federation of Malaysia and the People’s Republic of China. As the Chief Legal Officer, he oversees the group’s legal team, manages the group’s varied risks, compliance work and advising on the strategic direction of the group. He is also actively involved in large scale projects that the group is contemplating to undertake or is in the midst of completing (e.g. conversion of coal powered co-generation plant to an environmentally friendly biomass co-generation plant and acquisition/disposal of production factories). Some of his main responsibilities pertaining to those projects are to secure financing (from traditional financing institutions, venture capital, private equity, etc.) and contract negotiations to mitigate risk (e.g. devising unique payment methods). Prior to joining ecoWise Holdings Limited, he was at RHTLaw Taylor Wessing LLP, a uniquely local international law firm, working out from Singapore to serve its clients in South-East Asia. At RHTLaw Taylor Wessing LLP, he was part of the corporate team doing a variety of corporate work such as facilitating joint ventures, incorporating funds, issuance of derivative instruments, etc. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree and graduated from the University of Bristol Law school and currently is a member of the Singapore Bar. |
Monica Sun, Head of Risk Control and Compliance Monica is the Head of Risk Control and Compliance, CGN Huasheng Investment Limited (“CGNHS”), which is the sole oversea fund management center and financing platform of China General Nuclear Group Limited. As the team leader of Risk Control and Compliance function, she is in charge of all legal and compliance matters with different applicable laws and regulations and relevant practice, as well as its internal control and business risk management practices. She has more than 10 years of in-house experience in the areas of corporate, commercial, finance, and IP laws. She specialises in corporate finance, sales finance, structural finance and project Finance both from the and lender and borrower consideration. Prior to joining CGNHS, she has worked in legal and compliance roles for Huawei Technologies as Senior Legal Counsel and BGI Medical as General Legal and IP Counsel. She began her legal career as a PRC registered lawyer in the banking and finance practice at Grandall Legal, Shenzhen Office. She graduated from Peking University and had juris master degree of law. |
Supriya Sen, Senior Advisor Supriya is a senior advisor in banking and infrastructure finance at McKinsey & Co. in Singapore. She also serves as Independent Director on boards of a few public and private companies and non-profits in India, Singapore and ASEAN region. |
